Carter is an ex-McKinsey consultant and founder of Katabatic Solutions consulting firm. At multiple Fortune 50 companies, they’ve served as a right hand to C-Suite executives, launched continent-wide strategies and initiatives, and implemented sustainable policies that resulted in millions of dollars in cost savings.

Carter is an outdoor educator and adventure guide. Working as an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School, Carter has led half a dozen 30-day backpacking trips in Teton Valley and the surrounding wilderness. As a Backroads Leader, Carter has led over two dozen active travel trips in America’s National Parks.

Carter is a LAMDA-educated stage and voice actor. They’ve performed in 30+ full-length plays and musicals, logging 4000+ hours of dedicated stagecraft.

Carter spent a year cycling 11,000 miles (unsupported) from Kazakhstan to Spain on the Silk Road. They blogged about the bikepacking expedition here.

Insatiably curious, Carter has worked and studied in 30+ countries around the globe: publishing environmental research in Bangkok, performing onstage in London, riding a motorbike the length of Vietnam, etc. Carter takes full responsibility for causing their parents’ anxiety.

Carter turned down acceptances to Yale and Brown, opting for a full-ride to UNC. As a consequence, they have fewer ultra-wealthy friends and closely follow college basketball.
